Compact and light, with sustainable use of water and no possible contaminations, WESTAR-ECO is the new, innovative single-use tab format for ECL for Western blotting designed to match the aim for ecological, responsible technology.

The WESTAR-ECO concept allows sensible reductions in the use of paper, plastics, and kit total weight and volume compared to the standard liquid formulation, with a correlated decrease in CO2 emissions in the kit distribution.

Features

  • CO2 emission reduction – The kit is now more compact, 74% smaller, and 85% lighter, allowing an evident decrease in CO2 emissions in the transports.
  • Paper and plastics reduction – Packaging is light and small, allowing a 72% reduction in paper use and 81% in plastics compared to standard liquid kits.
  • Sharing of water use – Optimization in water use, a fundamental aspect of the green approach, is another target of this format. Dedicated and limited pure water use in each lab at the moment of the test replaces a single large production of ultra-pure water at the manufacturing. Sustainable and waste-free sharing in the exploitation of this vital commodity is possible.
  • Avoid contaminations – The tablet single-use format minimizes the solutions’ contamination risks.
