STAR FLUOR 700 – GFR

Infra-Red fluorescent markers for in vivo glomerular filtration rate measurement F9L090R

STAR FLUOR 700 – GFR marker is a near-infrared fluorescent agent for noninvasive assessment of kidney function. The marker exhibits favourable hydrophilicity, low plasma protein binding, high stability and nontoxicity.

It can be efficiently filtrated by the glomeruli and completely excreted through the kidneys into urine without reabsorption or secretion in the kidney proximal tubule. These attractive characteristics make it a near-ideal marker for in vivo measurement of glomerular filtration rate via transcutaneous device or MSOT measurement.

Properties for STAR FLUOR 700 – GFR

Features - Ideal marker for GFR: low protein binding (3.7%), 97% glomerular filtration, and unaltered excretion in the presence of tubular blockades
- High resolution imaging: STAR FLUOR 700 – GFR’s optical properties in the NIR region provide a better signal-to-noise ratio without any signal overlap with the autofluorescence, thereby deepening the tissue penetration
- Highly stable: The marker’s high photostability and chemical stability allow imaging and testing for a long period without the degradation of the dye
- High brightness: low dosage required
- Easy to use: available in lyophilized form, ready to be dissolved in water and buffers
- Non-toxicity: possible use in in vivo applications
